Background of the Study
Managing extensive burn injuries requires highly specialized care due to the severe damage to skin, tissues, and sometimes organs. Nurses play a critical role in the early and ongoing care of burn patients, especially in resource-limited settings like Zamfara State. However, managing such extensive injuries comes with numerous challenges, including a lack of specialized training, inadequate resources, and a high patient burden.
This study will investigate the challenges faced by nurses in managing extensive burn injuries in Zamfara State hospitals and propose strategies to overcome these challenges.
Statement of the Problem
Nurses in Zamfara State hospitals are tasked with managing extensive burn injuries but may face numerous challenges due to a lack of resources, training, and support. These challenges could hinder the effective care and recovery of burn patients. This study seeks to identify these challenges and offer recommendations for improvement.
Objectives of the Study
To identify the challenges nurses face in managing extensive burn injuries in Zamfara State hospitals.
To assess the impact of these challenges on patient outcomes.
To propose strategies to improve the management of extensive burn injuries in Zamfara State.
Research Questions
What challenges do nurses face in managing extensive burn injuries in Zamfara State hospitals?
How do these challenges affect patient outcomes in burn care?
What strategies can be implemented to improve the management of extensive burn injuries in Zamfara State?
Research Hypotheses
Nurses in Zamfara State face significant challenges in managing extensive burn injuries.
These challenges negatively affect the outcomes of burn care in Zamfara State hospitals.
Implementing strategies such as further training and resource allocation will improve the management of extensive burn injuries.
Scope and Limitations of the Study
The study will focus on nurses working in hospitals in Zamfara State that manage burn patients. Limitations may include access to certain hospitals or facilities and variability in the level of resources available.
Definitions of Terms
